Avantor is looking for an Automation Engineer (f/m/d) to join our growing team in Tilburg! Want to work on innovative products that really have an impact? This is the role for you! As an Automation Engineer, you will carry out automation activities on development, standardization or customer projects professionally and to the customers’ expectations.You will be responsible for the software development, automation, testing, and creation of technical documentation for the single-use systems business. Working hours: Monday-Friday, 08:30-17:00, home office availability after successful probation (1-2 days/wHow you will thrive and have an impact Carry out automation engineering, which includes specifying, documenting and testing systems across hardware and software specifications for industrial automation as well as control starter and HMI panels. Prepare the RFQ for automation (PLC and HMI) based on input from Process-, and User Requirements Specifications. Review and approve vendor and subcontractor submittals, checking for compliance with project specifications and providing comments as necessary. Contact existing & new vendors to implement state-of-the-art industry solutions. Prepare the necessary technical documentation such as Functional Description Specification, Software Design Specification, Operation & Maintenance Manual and FAT of the control panel. Prepare spare part lists and preservation reports. Travel to customer locations to assist in troubleshooting of existing systems. Perform tests including Factory and Site Acceptance Testing. What we are looking for Education: Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Electrical Engineering or Software / Automation Engineering or similar Engineering Degree Experience: Demonstrated work experience with electrical and instrumentation control design (concept & detailed design), costing, estimation, and quotations Skills: Experience with CODESYS, PLC, and HMI Programming Ability to create, read, understand, and assess electrical drawings Experience with bug tracking Demonstrated problem-solving skills Business fluency in English Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with customers and suppliers Ability to grasp technical concepts and their application to customers’ processes Experience working with piping/tubing systems Technical knowledge of Process & Instrumentation Diagrams Familiarity with the Siemens TIA Portal & SCADA Familiarity with a range of communication protocols, e.G: Profibus, Ether CAT, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP, TCP/IP, IO-Link Experience and/or knowledge with instrumentation Familiarity with pneumatics and pneumatic control logic GAMP-5 know-how would be an advantage This role is offered on a full-time, one-year contract basis that can be extended to a permanent contract after mutual agreement.
