In order to execute the investment strategy and further develop the firm’s business, we are looking for an investment professional with a few years of private equity, investment banking or corporate finance experience, ideally in the food and agriculture sector. The Associate will support the investment team in identifying, analyzing, executing and managing investment opportunities primarily in the European food and agriculture sector. The Associate will join a small and very close team and will have a good level of exposure on day one working closely with the firm’s management.
Primary responsibilities
Support sourcing and execution activities for new investments, including but not limited to:
- Actively monitoring industry trends, technological advancements, and competitive landscape to identify emerging investment themes. Anticipating changes and disruptions that can offer opportunities or can generate risks to the fund.
- Collection and analysis of market information for assigned sub-sectors and potential investee companies in target countries.
- Pro-active sourcing of potential investment opportunities.
- Maintaining relationships with existing partners and building relationships with new partners.
- Initial screening of new investments and drafting of meeting notes and early stage “heads up memos”.
- Constructing, reviewing and maintaining detailed financial/operating models (e.g. discounted cash flow, comparable company, and precedent transaction analyses) for potential investments.
- Drafting investment memorandums and assist with conducting and documenting of comprehensive due diligence.
- Supporting in the managing, monitoring and reporting on portfolio investments.
- Assisting with projects for portfolio companies, including add-on acquisitions,international expansion, other business development activities, and eventual exits.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required background, skills and qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in private equity, investment banking or corporate finance, ideally in the food & agri sector.
- Knowledge of the investment process, portfolio management and private equity administration.
- Undergraduate / MBA degree from a leading university / school. CFA qualification is a plus.
- Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of other European languages is a plus.
- Confident dealing with ambiguity and acting successfully under pressure, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Proactive, self-starter, high energy, convincing, self-confident and entrepreneurial mind-set
- High degree of personal integrity, with the highest standards of company values and practices.
- Commitment to and enthusiasm for the firm’s vision to addressing the opportunity to build sustainable food production systems with a global, integrated investment strategy.

Work conditions
Hybrid: 30% office / 70% home
Office: Breda, The Netherlands, next to the train station
This position will require travel throughout Europe and to selected other countries
