Position:The Service Manager is responsible for developing a midterm strategy in coherence with the Department management. A key part of this management role is to set up and implement a paid service concept that will contribute to the departments financial results. The Service Manager will challenge and inspire the Commercial Marine Service Team (4) to the next level. His/her assignment is to manage the field service engineers, inside service team and third-party repair/ service partners. The other part is to organize the performance and development of the Yanmar service agent network (29 companies) for achieving service and parts sales objectives and overseeing the commissioning of the Yanmar Commercial Marine Engines (start-up) and Products.Key main tasksKey account management to Yanmar’s VIP customers. Supports and improves Parts Sales in EuropeMaintaining and building long term relationships with all stakeholders (Service agents, vessel owners, shipyards, and manufacturers)Setting After Service Engineering policies and procedures. Securing a strong working knowledge based of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws, ensuring the company’s adherence to these regulations, and remaining current on the industry’s standards and new innovations, materials, tools, and processesOverseeing the service section’s budget in P/L, midterm plan and project calculationsPrepare annual plans and judge the effectiveness of his group, inform the Senior Sales Manager Large EngineCreate a training program for the service engineers and service network and create a solid knowledge baseThe Service Manager is partner for the Yanmar factories in Japan in both technical and warranty matters and reports to the Senior Manager Commercial Marine.Your profileBachelor’s degree Naval/Maritime Academy, Nautical College CE equivalent like Mechanical Engineering and/or Maintenance & Asset managementMinimum 5 year’s management experience in managing a team of Service engineers and dealer service networkExperience in developing commercial after sales service activities in an international working environmentExperience in Maintenance and Asset management in shipping or similar capital goodsTechnical knowhow to supervise engine start-ups and large repairs jobsAffinity with electronics in mechanical systems (Control systems, common rail, DF engines)Contractmanagement and projectmanagement capabilitiesCommercial, managerial, and administrative knowledge and skillsEnglish speaking, Dutch speaking is a plusInterested and challenged by this opportunity?For more information, please contact Ton van den Boogaard, Group Director MU at +31 (0)33 4501400.
