YOUR ROLE

As Warehouse Team Lead, you are ‘the engine oil’ of our logistics operation. Together with your team, approximately 30 operators and 2 to 4 team coordinators, you determine the success of one of the largest and most automated warehouses in the Netherlands, at our client Zalando. Quite a challenging job!

Described in a nutshell, you lead the process in one of our warehouse departments: Unloading/receiving, stowing/picking, or packing/expedition. As a true leader of the pack, you motivate, develop, and inspire your team intensely. Next to this, to stay in the driver’s seat, you collaborate with your colleagues in the Control Room to monitor and discuss results, KPIs, and performance ratios. In this position, you report to the department’s Operations Manager.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Leading the daily operation and being responsible for achieving set KPIs and improvement plans;
  • Coaching and developing your team through stand-ups and one-on-one meetings;
  • Decision making for an optimal process in collaboration with your colleagues and the Control Room;
  • Optimizing the efficiency of people, resources, and machines;
  • Conducting performance and appraisal interviews and absenteeism guidance;
  • Ensuring a clean, healthy, and safe working environment.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • You are a people manager with at least 3 years of experience in managing a team in a similar warehouse/logistics work environment;
  • Full-time availability, working in 3 shifts (early shift 6.15 – 14.45h, late shift 14.45 – 23.15h, and (once in 5 weeks) a night shift 23.15 – 6.15h);
  • Proficient in English, in writing and speaking; Dutch is a plus;
  • You are a strong communicator, a go-getter, and able to handle stressful situations;
  • Good social and contact skills;

WHAT DO WE OFFER YOU?

A managerial key position in a growing, dynamic warehousing environment with space for exploring initiatives and developing on both personal and professional levels. In addition, we offer:

  • A monthly gross base salary between €2.850,- and €3.600,-;
  • An 8% holiday allowance, and 10% (19.00 – 0.00h) or 25% (0.00 – 6.00h) shift allowance, and 50% weekend allowance;
  • A one-year contract with the prospect of a permanent contract;
  • 25 vacation days and four extra days if you do not take a sick leave;
  • Secondary employment conditions, including travel expenses;
  • A favorable pension scheme and discounts in the staff benefit store and on various insurances;
