The HQ in Almere are looking to fill the role of: Director Product Management
Reporting to the VP Product Management, you will coordinate Product Management’s team activities being responsible for developing and implementing mid- and long-term product strategy, in alignment with the MLE business strategy. You will provide insights into the MLE group’s strategy within the product development & care domain to ensure the competitiveness of MLE products/services and associated actions.
Responsibilities:
- Product Line-Up & Development:
Oversee the development of a competitive product line-up across all categories, focusing on volumes, competitiveness, and profitability, including midlife updates (facelifts). Collaborate closely with the Product Management team to achieve these objectives.
- Commercial Oversight:
Ensure the commercial aspects (price, volume, and specifications) of Product Development & Care projects are executed effectively across all product categories.
- New Product Implementation:
Guarantee a high standard for new product launches, implementations, and time-to-market execution across all product categories.
- Communication & Stakeholder Engagement:
Ensure professional, engaging, clear, and timely communication regarding new product implementations (NPIs), product changes, and developments to the sales organization and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Promotional Activities:
Drive the promotional agenda and actions across all product categories in collaboration with the MLE Marketing function, targeting both internal and external audiences.
- Internal Controls & Risk Management:
Implement and improve internal controls within Product Development & Care to mitigate risks and meet internal control and JSOX requirements.
- Sales Support:
Provide high-standard sales support across all product categories, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives.
- Market & Competitor Analysis:
Monitor and analyze competitor activities, ensuring up-to-date knowledge of market dynamics and dealer behavior to maintain competitive products and pricing that meet customer expectations. Stay informed about developments in the logistics industry and translate customer demands and innovations into actionable requirements for the design teams.
- Strategic Coordination:
Serve as a key link between R&D, manufacturing entities, sales requirements, and customer needs to align operations with business objectives.
What you bring?
- University degree in Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in the product management field (driving mid- and long-term Product Management and Development agenda
- Experience in team management in an international environment
- Knowledge of Trucks and Materials Handling equipment sector
- Experience in training, communication, and marketing
- Thorough understanding of customer’s processes and needs
- Personality: Hands-on and visionary; Customer focused and result oriented; Outgoing, Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Both strategic thinking and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experienced user of Microsoft Office including Office +365, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat as well as SalesForce/Tacton knowledge.
