Role Description
The Head of Human Resources will lead and oversee the HR function at The British School of Amsterdam, providing strategic direction and ensuring alignment with the school’s core values. Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, and managing HR policies, overseeing employee relations, ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws, and driving initiatives to foster professional development and staff satisfaction. The Head of HR will collaborate closely with the leadership team, advise on HR-related matters, and lead recruitment and onboarding processes. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Amsterdam.
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in Human Resources (HR) and HR Management, including experience in leading HR strategy and operational execution.
- Solid knowledge of Labor and Employment Law and the ability to ensure organizational compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Experience in developing HR Policies and managing Employee Relations to create a supportive, inclusive, and effective workplace environment.
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across diverse teams.
- Relevant professional qualifications in HR or a related field (e.g., CIPD certification or equivalent) and an academic degree.
- Prior experience in an educational setting or familiarity with international schools is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Dutch and English is preferred, with an understanding of the local employment landscape.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively, implement change initiatives, and support strategic decision-making processes within an organization.
