The HQ in Almere are currently looking for an outspoken and highly motivated

LEGAL COUNSEL (30-37,5 hrs/week)

The role

In this diverse role, you will support MLE while at the same time fulfilling an important role for the group sales subsidiaries, also known as Local Business Units (LBUs) in their legal endeavors.

The role reports to the VP Legal, Compliance & Privacy.

Your responsibilities

  • First point of contact for LBUs for all legal matters;
  • Support LBUs (local management and business teams) on legal matters as more detailed below;
  • Assist in reviewing, negotiating and preparing legal documents;
  • Providing practical, business-oriented legal advice and support to the business (group wide) on different areas of law such as for example contractual law (distribution), competition law, EU regulatory law, corporate law;
  • Research rules and regulations and its applicability and relevance for the organization;
  • Supporting in assessing and preparing local distribution agreements, lease agreements, financing agreements as well as any other applicable categories of agreements;
  • Support Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) business and international operating LogSol (logistic solutions) team;
  • Ensuring alignment of group policies with organizational changes;
  • Coordinating organization-wide projects with LBUs such as tender participations;
  • Managing the Group’s legal entities and corporate data in our systems;
  • Take active role in discussions and development of projects of LBUs.

What you bring?

  • LL.M./Master of Law degree in one of the major EU jurisdictions (Dutch law qualifications preferred);
  • 3-5 years of experience as an in-house legal counsel from an international organization, with good understanding of the Dutch civil law and/or another major European jurisdiction;
  • Expertise in corporate law, commercial contracts, product compliance, antitrust/competition law;
  • Understanding of litigation and dispute resolution mechanisms, including arbitration and mediation;
  • Experience in dealing and consulting with (senior) management and/or fulfilling a key role in coordinating projects;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English. Additional European languages such as French, Dutch or German are a plus.
